Activision has released the first gameplay trailer for the upcoming Zombies mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, along with a detailed blog post on the official Call of Duty website. The new trailer provides a glimpse into the narrative that ties the zombie-killing experience together and introduces new and returning gameplay features. Players can look forward to the zombies survival mode during the upcoming Open Beta, alongside other multiplayer modes.
The trailer begins with a recap of what was shown in last week’s cinematic trailer, introducing the cast of characters in the Zombies mode before showcasing snippets of gameplay set to AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell.” The blog post offers more specific details about the gameplay and visual aspects of the mode.
This year’s Zombies mode picks up where Black Ops 6 left off, sending players “to the beating heart of the Dark Aether,” with multiple timelines converging. The eight-player crew battles through various maps including Janus Towers Plaza, Vandorn Farm, Blackwater Lake, Ashwood, Exit 115, Zarya Cosmodrome, and The Fog. Each map offers unique features like thick fog at Exit 115, the decaying highway diner and gas station, the sinking frontier town of Ashwood, and the picturesque but zombie-infested resort of Blackwater Lake.
Key new features include a wonder vehicle called Ol’Tessie, a truck that can serve as your battering ram through horde attacks while requiring maintenance to reinforce its frame. Additionally, there’s a new ultimate weapon, the Necrofluid Gauntlet—a glove that allows you to punch through zombies’ heads and fire spikes, pulling items towards you.
More details about this year’s Zombies mode will be revealed during the upcoming Open Beta next week. The trailer also hints at recent gameplay revelations for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, including a new multiplayer reveal trailer featuring wall-running mechanics that debuted just two days ago.
