Four years after Marvel’s Wolverine was officially announced, we finally received our first proper look at the game during today’s State of Play presentation. The new trailer showcased gameplay with intense combat and various environments that Logan will explore. The brutal and bloody nature of the combat almost feels like a crossover with Ninja Gaiden, known for its graphic violence.
During the presentation, members of Marvel’s Wolverine development team, including Creative Director Marcus Smith, Executive Producer Eric Monacelli, and Senior Project Manager Jess Reiner Reed, provided additional insights. They emphasized that great care has been taken to make the game a true Wolverine experience, with attention to detail, the inclusion of other characters like Mystique and Omega Red, and casting the right actor for one of Marvel’s most iconic characters.
Liam McIntyre, an Australian actor known for his roles in Spartacus, Gears of War 4 and 5, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, will play Wolverine. Based on the trailer, it seems he is doing a great job capturing the essence of the character.
Today’s State of Play confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine will launch on PlayStation 5 during Fall 2026. More information on the game will be revealed in Spring 2026.
