Washington – President Trump said on October 6 in the Oval Office that he would invoke the Insurrection Act if necessary. So far, it hasn’t been needed, but Trump noted, “We have an Insurrection Act for a reason. If I had to enact it, I’d do that.”
He added, “If people were being killed, courts were holding us up, or governors or mayors were preventing us from deploying the troops, I would invoke it. I want to ensure people aren’t killed and our cities remain safe.”
