A new trademark application has been filed for “MacroHard,” suggesting that Elon Musk might own a firm named MacroHard in the future. This name is intended to play off Microsoft’s brand and seems likely given Elon’s history of surprising ventures.
Elon Musk’s Next Firm Could Be Named ‘MacroHard’
The term “MacroHard” has been used by Elon several times online, indicating that his next AI venture might indeed be called MacroHard. This name is a play on Microsoft, as it spells the opposite. In an earlier post, Elon mentioned creating a company with multi-agent AI software, where xAI’s Grok would generate thousands of specialized agents for coding or video generation. He later hinted, “Can you guess the name of this company?” and MacroHard fits his description well.

Musk has not been a fan of Microsoft, especially Bill Gates, and often criticized the company’s pandemic efforts. He also disapproved when Gates bought a Porsche EV instead of a Tesla. This rivalry is deep-rooted, and with MacroHard emerging as an AI firm, Elon could target both Microsoft and OpenAI, which he has strongly opposed in the past. While it remains to be seen if MacroHard becomes reality, given Musk’s intentions, it seems like a fair possibility.
