ASUS has teased a new ROG Matrix design for the GeForce RTX 5090 in a short video. This edition features an unconventional shroud and RGB lighting.
After the ROG Astral, ASUS is reportedly developing another premium edition for the GeForce RTX 5090. The GPU boasts a triple-fan design with Infinity Mirror ROG branding. While not entirely new to ASUS, this Matrix Edition offers a distinct look compared to its predecessors like the Strix and Astral.
This new design won’t be as expensive but is expected to cost more than $3000 due to current trends for the RTX 5090. In the teaser video shared on Facebook, ASUS ROG showcased this new design, likely reserved for flagship GPUs such as the RTX 5090.
The video highlights a circular shroud ending with an Infinity Mirror design that showcases ROG branding, which may be customizable. The second fan is visible but not prominently featured, while the third appears larger, though analysis shows it’s equal in size to the other two fans.
This GPU seems air-cooled, unlike the previous Matrix RTX 4090, which used an AIO cooling solution. The new design borrows inspiration from the ROG Matrix RTX 2080 Ti, another flagship card with similar Infinity Mirror shroud design.
The RTX 5090 Matrix should be officially announced soon and likely come with high boost clocks, optimized for manual overclocking to achieve even higher frequencies.
