ASUS has recently unveiled its top-tier AMD AM5 BTF motherboard, the ROG Crosshair X870E HERO BTF. This board features 22 power phases and an OC-Ready design, making it a highly desirable choice for enthusiasts.

The ROG Crosshair X870E HERO BTF is part of ASUS’s BTF (Board Tuning Framework) journey on AMD platforms, following the earlier release of the TUF Gaming B850-TUF WIFI motherboard. At Computex, ASUS announced plans to introduce more AM5 BTF boards, including this highly anticipated model.

The motherboard comes equipped with a robust 18 (110A) + 2 (110A) + 2 (80A) power solution, supporting AMD Ryzen 9000 CPUs and DDR5 memory. The latter has been upgraded to support up to 8600 MT/s speeds and 256 GB capacities. Dual 8-pin connectors provide the necessary power.

Designed with overclocking in mind, this motherboard includes features like Nitropath (up to 400 MT/s boost), AEMP (ASUS Enhanced Memory Profile), DIMM FIT/PRO (optimized performance & support), Dynamic OC Switcher, Core Flex, PBO enhancement, and a built-in clock generator for asynchronous clock tuning.

Storage options include five M.2 slots and four SATA III ports. Three of the M.2 slots are PCIe 5.0 x4 (direct from CPU) and two are PCIe 4.0 x4 (direct from chipset). Expansion slots feature one PCIe 5.0 x16 and one PCIe 4.0 x4. All M.2 slots come with heatsinks for effective cooling.

The motherboard offers a comprehensive array of I/O ports, including 20 USB ports (10 on the rear and 10 on the front), HDMI, BIOS Flashback button, Clear CMOS button, ALC4082-powered 7.1 channel audio jack, WIFI7+BT5.4 module, Realtek 5GbE & Intel 2.5 GbE LAN port, and an Optical S/PDIF out port.

BTF features include the placement of almost all connectors on the back, with a few fan headers still on the front. The board supports a Graphics Card High-power slot for up to 600W power delivery, which can be used with an ASUS or third-party BTF card. This design provides a cleaner and neater way to manage cables inside your PC.

ASUS hasn’t provided specific pricing information but expects the ROG Crosshair X870E HERO BTF to retail at a premium over its standard HERO counterpart, which typically sells for around $600-$650 US.
