The Esports Federation of India (ESFI) has initiated registrations for the National Esports Championship (NESC) 2025. This tournament is a key step in selecting India’s Dota 2 student team for the OXY-2025 event in Samara, Russia. Recognized as one of the premier competitions, OXY-2025 will feature student teams from nearly 50 countries across five continents.
The NESC 2025 offers a substantial prize pool of 5.5 million Russian Rubles (approximately Rs 55 lakhs). The top team stands to win 2,000,000 RUR, with the prize money decreasing to 125,000 RUR for teams ranked fifth through eighth. A total of 16 teams will compete, including one from Russia and 15 from qualifying regions, all playing Dota 2.
Registrations are open until August 2, 2025, with matches scheduled to begin on August 8, either online or in physical venues. Participation is limited to students aged 16 to 25 from recognized educational institutions in India and abroad. The South Asia Division, where the Indian team will qualify, concludes by August 31, 2025.
ESFI Director Lokesh Suji emphasizes that NESC 2025 provides a unique platform for Indian students to gain international exposure, both prestigious and rewarding. Participation is open to all genders and nationalities of students studying in India or internationally.
OXY-2025, now in its fourth edition, continues to promote global student engagement in esports with high expectations for a robust Indian turnout. This event engages teams from diverse national backgrounds, including regions such as the USA, Brazil, China, South Africa, and others.
