Noctua plans to release a Noctua Edition of the GeForce RTX 5090, similar to their successful RTX 5080 Noctua OC edition. However, they are facing difficulties in obtaining sufficient GPU chips.
Noctua Expresses Interest in RTX 5090 Noctua Edition but Faces Chip Supply Issues
The ASUS GeForce RTX 5080 Noctua OC is one of the most premium RTX 5080 editions, priced at around $2300 in China and over €1600 in Europe. This collaboration between ASUS and Noctua features a large heatsink with multiple heat pipes and high-performance Noctua NF-A12 fans, resulting in a quad-slot-sized GPU. It was launched recently and is available on JD, a major Chinese e-commerce platform.

Despite their interest in creating an RTX 5090 Noctua Edition, Noctua faces significant challenges due to the “scarce” supply of GPU chips. The RTX 5090 uses the Blackwell GB202 chip, which is also used in some high-end workstation AI GPUs like the RTX PRO 6000. Given the high demand for these chips, Noctua cannot currently secure enough to produce their desired edition.
Noctua remains hopeful and plans to create custom RTX 5090 Noctua Editions in the future but is currently limited by chip availability. Therefore, potential customers will only have access to the RTX 5080 Noctua OC for now, which is significantly more expensive than standard RTX 5090 editions.
If Noctua manages to produce RTX 5090 variants in the near future, these GPUs are likely to cost at least $3000, if not more, due to limited availability and high prices.
