## AMD’s Next-Gen Zen 6 Mobility CPUs: Gator Range, Medusa Point, and Medusa BB
An internal roadmap from OEM Seleno has revealed details about AMD’s upcoming lineup of mobile processors. The new series includes three main families: the flagship gaming and compute family named Gator Range, the premium Medusa Point, and the mainstream Medusa BB.
### Gator Range
Gator Range is a high-performance CPU codenamed for enthusiast gaming laptops. It will replace the Fire Range “HX” series with specifications similar to AMD’s desktop Zen 6 lineup, which can feature up to 24 cores and 32 threads. Given that Fire Range operated at a TDP of 55W or higher, we can expect Gator Range to follow a comparable power consumption profile.
### Medusa Point
Medusa Point is aimed at premium and mainstream laptops. It will be powered by the 3nm Zen 6 core architecture and will use both Zen 6 and Zen 6C cores within its design. The lineup will revolve around FP10 platforms, as confirmed in previous information.
According to prior reports, AMD Medusa Point CPUs are likely to include up to 22 cores, with a configuration that combines 4 Zen 6 cores, 4 Zen 6C cores, and 2 LP Zen 6 cores within the SOC. An external Zen 6 CCD will add another 12 cores.
### Medusa BB
Medusa BB is positioned as a more standard offering for Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 5 laptops, featuring up to 10 cores in a configuration of 4 Zen 6, 4 Zen 6C, and 2 LP Zen 6. These chips will retain an 8 CU RDNA 3.5 iGPU.
The roadmap indicates that Gator Range, Medusa Point, and Medusa BB won’t be available until 2027. AMD is expected to launch its new Zen 6 processors in 2026, which you can follow up on at the company’s Financial Analyst Day in November.
