Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal posted on X: “Russia has long used GPS jamming and other EW tactics to disrupt regional air and sea traffic.” He added that Estonia would respond by building a layered air defense system, including a drone wall.
Colonel Ants Kiviselg, head of the Estonian defense forces’ intelligence center, confirmed that Russia’s GPS jamming was intended to protect its strategic assets rather than targeting NATO allies. This incident follows a similar one in Poland, another NATO ally bordering Ukraine, where a Russian decoy drone exploded in a field.
