Today marks the launch of Helldivers 2 on Xbox Series X/S. Alongside this, developer Arrowhead Games has detailed a new update called “Into the Unjust,” which launches on September 2, 2025, for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
This update introduces exciting new content to the game, including new Hive Worlds where players must explore deep caves without their Super Destroyer. To navigate these treacherous terrains, you’ll need to work together, using both heavy-duty weapons and flashlights to see what threats lie ahead.
Players will embark on two main missions: one defending an oil rig that extracts resources from Terminid planets for the mission to liberate the universe, and another requiring you to traverse a labyrinth of caves in search of the Hive Lung and destroy it.
New challenges come with new enemies. The underground world introduces mole-like creatures that burrow and surprise players from below, as well as dragon bugs called Dragonroach that spew acidic bile overhead. Arrowhead also hints at a larger subterranean bug resembling giant worms, though no visuals are provided yet.
To combat these threats, the update includes new weapons and warbonds. For instance, the Dust Devils Warbond will be available with the Into the Unjust update next week. Additionally, there’s a Halo ODST crossover warbond that is now available on PlayStation devices, marking the first time Halo content appears on a PlayStation.
Into the Unjust represents one of the most significant updates to Helldivers 2 since the Heart of Democracy patch earlier this year. The new collaboration with Halo is fitting for Xbox Series X/S players joining the fight for the first time.
