MAXHUB has recently launched an “AI+ desktop” featuring the Zhaoxin KX-7000 processor. This AI-focused computer is designed within a fully domestic ecosystem, highlighting China’s progress in CPU technology. The KX-7000 is China’s first x86-based solution and can be directly compared to AMD or Intel products.
The specifications of the KX-7000 include an 8-core/8-thread configuration built on the x86 Century Avenue architecture, with a 7nm chiplet design. The processor’s design resembles that of LGA 1700 socketed chips from Intel, indicating similar intentions and appearance.
MAXHUB’s AI+ desktop is designed for professional and AI workloads and features a compact 10-liter volume. It includes on-device AI capabilities such as a dedicated AI assistant, intelligent cutouts, and file conversions, enhancing user experience without relying on third-party applications.
Performance-wise, the MAXHUB’s AI+ desktop can handle 1080P and 4K high-bitrate online video playback at 30 fps with reasonable CPU utilization. While Zhaoxin is still behind competitors like Intel or AMD, this product demonstrates China’s commitment to building an entirely domestic ecosystem based on in-house technology.
