A significant number of Battlefield 6 open beta players had system configurations below the minimum recommended specs. However, the game’s development team ensured that all players could enjoy the open beta properly, regardless of their system configuration.
In a recent interview with Eurogamer, technical director Christian Buhl confirmed that out of millions of participants, many were running on or below the minimum specs. The team was prepared for this challenge and worked extensively to make sure the game was playable across a wide range of hardware configurations. As Buhl explained, “Min spec is certainly one of our most important specifications. It’s super important from both a commercial and business perspective—we want as many people as possible playing the game.”
With rising costs of living and PC hardware, it’s welcome news that Battlefield 6 runs well on low-end systems. However, it remains to be seen if this performance will continue in the full game after its release.
Another round of testing via Battlefield Labs is planned for a little over a month before the game launches. This testing will evaluate changes based on beta feedback, new maps like Operation Firestorm, and server browsing.
