Adelaide-based independent developer Team Cherry has revealed that Hollow Knight: Silksong will launch for $19.99/€19.99/¥2300. The game is set to become available on Thursday, August 4, at the following times:
– 7 AM Pacific Time
– 10 AM Eastern Time
– 4 PM Central European Time
– 11 PM Japan Time
For Hollow Knight fans, it feels almost surreal. Since the original game’s release in 2015 and its widespread critical acclaim, which led to over 15 million unit sales, Silksong has been a long-awaited sequel. Initially announced as DLC for the first game, it has since expanded significantly, featuring more enemies, bosses, and benches. It also includes a full quest system and journal.
The narrative follows Hornet, the former princess of Hallownest, who is captured and brought to the haunted Kingdom of Pharloom. She embarks on a dangerous journey to ascend its peak and uncover ancient secrets tied to her nature and past. The game will be available on multiple platforms: PC (Windows, macOS, Linux), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, Nintendo Switch, and the Nintendo Switch Lite.
The announcement of Silksong’s release date forced several indie games (CloverPit, Aeterna Lucis, Baby Steps, Demonschool, Faeland, Little Witch in the Woods, and Stomp and the Sword of Miracles demo) to delay their own launches, as they feared being overshadowed by this highly anticipated sequel.
