We might finally see standard 24-25-inch OLED panels for gaming as early as next year, thanks to Samsung’s interest in producing a 25-inch gaming panel. This development would cater to budget-conscious users.
Samsung is Rumored to Launch a 25-Inch OLED Gaming Display in the First Half of 2026; High Expectations for This Screen Size
OLED monitors are costly and come in fewer form factors compared to common display panels like IPS, which often appear on small-screen monitors. The smallest OLED panel available is 27 inches (26.5 inches exactly), whereas VA, TN, and IPS panels can be as small as <20 inches. For modern gaming, most users prefer a 24-inch or 25-inch screen size, making OLED options unavailable to them.

24 and 25-inch gaming displays are more common due to their lower cost, smaller footprint, good pixel density with 1080p resolution, and popularity in eSports. Samsung is reportedly considering a 25-inch (24.5-inch exactly) OLED gaming display next year because it has high expectations for this form factor. According to Channel Gate (via IT Home), 25-inch monitors are very popular among gamers due to their cost and resolution, as 1080p at 27 inches doesn’t offer a pleasant experience compared to smaller screens.

With the production of 25-inch OLED displays, Samsung can target budget-conscious gamers who cannot afford expensive 27-inch or larger OLED monitors. These 25-inch OLED gaming monitors will still be more costly than IPS or VA models but could become more affordable as the cost of many OLED gaming monitors has been dropping gradually.
Samsung is reportedly targeting a refresh rate range of 300-360Hz, which would be excellent for this segment. 1080p@360Hz monitors will offer rich visual details, high fluidity, and excellent contrast without breaking the bank. However, we will have to wait for Samsung’s confirmation on this, as higher refresh rates are possible but currently expensive models do not cater to most users due to insufficient hardware.

Some of the most affordable OLED gaming monitors, like MSI MAG 271QP QD-OLED X24, have already dropped to around $500. Displays like ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACDNG can reach up to 360Hz and are currently available at around $600-$650. Thus, it’s likely that a 25-inch 1080p OLED monitor could be purchased for between $300 and $400.
