MediaTek has less than three weeks before it officially unveils its flagship smartphone chipset, the Dimensity 9500. For months, we’ve known that the Dimensity 9500 will have a ‘1 + 3 + 4’ CPU cluster configuration similar to its predecessors. However, it’s now reported that the L3 cache size will be increased from 12MB on the Dimensity 9400 and Dimensity 9400+ to 16MB on the new chip. The Travis performance core will run at a clock speed of 4.21GHz, while three Alto cores will function at 3.50GHz, and four Gelas low-power cores will operate at 2.70GHz.
### Improvements in Clock Speeds and NPU
The Dimensity 9500 features the ARM Mali-G1 Ultra GPU with 12 cores running at a clock speed of 1.00GHz. According to rumors, this GPU will have a new microarchitecture that enhances ray tracing performance while reducing power consumption.
### New Features and Performance Improvements
For the first time, the Dimensity 9500 will support ARM’s Scalable Matrix Extension (SME), which helps handle complex workloads more efficiently, leading to better single-core and multi-core performance. The NPU is upgraded to version 9.0, expected to deliver a peak of 100TOPS.
### Storage and RAM Specifications
The SoC supports 4-channel LPDDR5X RAM with a bandwidth of 10,667MHz and 4-lane UFS 4.1 storage. These specifications are beyond what was planned for the Dimensity 9400 and Dimensity 9400+.
