However, Biden opted to maintain Space Command in Colorado, arguing it was best for military readiness. Trump allies continued to advocate for moving the headquarters to Alabama, citing its strong support for Trump.

The decision by Biden to keep Space Command in Colorado was based on operational readiness. Around 1,700 personnel work at Space Command, according to congressional records. Huntsville, with its NASA Marshall Space Flight Center and major defense contractors like L3Harris and Lockheed Martin, has long lobbied for the headquarters.
