Trump wrote on Truth Social as the leaders met: “May President Xi and the wonderful people of China have a great and lasting day of celebration. Please give my warmest regards to Vladimir Putin, and Kim Jong Un, as you conspire against The United States of America.”
These comments come amid the meeting to demonstrate support among nations excluded by the West due to their involvement in Russia’s war with Ukraine, Europe’s worst conflict since World War II. Trump dismissed concerns about a potential threat from this group, stating that “we have the strongest military in the world,” and asserting they would never use their military against the US.
China began its largest-ever military parade on September 2nd, showcasing its growing military power and geopolitical influence as President Xi aimed to position Beijing as the leader of an international order beyond American dominance. The parade marked 80 years since Japan’s defeat in World War II and highlighted significant US support for China during the war.
Trump expressed disappointment with Russian President Vladimir Putin over the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, stating: “I’m very disappointed in President Putin. Thousands of people are dying… It’s a war that makes no sense.” He emphasized his commitment to helping end the war, saying: “We’ll be doing something to help people live. If I can help stop this, I think I have an obligation to do it.”
The meeting between these leaders underscores their collective stance against US interests and highlights ongoing geopolitical tensions in the region.
