Chinese GPU manufacturers have been making significant strides and now, with the Lisuan G100, they have managed to compete with NVIDIA’s mainstream GPUs. Firms like Moore Threads and BirenTech have attempted to introduce capable consumer GPUs into the domestic market to reduce reliance on firms such as AMD and NVIDIA.
According to recent tests, the Lisuan G100 has outperformed NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4060 in OpenCL benchmarks and is slightly behind the latest “Blackwell-based” GeForce RTX 5060. This marks a significant advancement for gaming GPUs from China.
Paired with AMD’s Ryzen 5 7600 processor, the Lisuan G100 scored 111,290 points on OpenCL, surpassing NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4060. Although the G100 is still not available in retail markets, its performance has shown consistent improvement. Previously, when tested against the decade-old NVIDIA GTX 660 Ti, it failed to outperform.
One of the main challenges for Chinese consumer GPUs has been unoptimized drivers, but based on OpenCL testing, Lisuan Technology appears to have developed a capable software system.
The specifications reveal that the Lisuan G100 is equipped with 12GB VRAM (likely GDDR6), 48 CUs, and a maximum frequency of 2000 MHz. It is produced using a 6nm process likely from SMIC.
This is the first time such a capable solution has emerged in China’s consumer GPU segment, and if it hits retail markets, it could make a significant impact on mainstream markets.
