Today, NVIDIA released a new Game Ready driver (version 581.29) for its GeForce graphics cards. This update includes optimizations for two upcoming games: Gearbox’s Borderlands 4 (releasing tomorrow) and Techland’s Dying Light: The Beast (out on September 19).
Both games now support NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, which can enhance PC performance by up to 5.5 times when enabled on a GeForce RTX 50 graphics card. For instance, the average frame rate for the GeForce RTX 5090 at 4K and maximum settings is 256 FPS with DLSS Super Resolution set to Performance, compared to 166 FPS for the RTX 5080.
In Borderlands 4, NVIDIA DLSS Ray Reconstruction also powers ray-traced effects such as global illumination and reflections. This can significantly improve performance while maintaining visual quality.
Reflex, another technology from NVIDIA, can reduce system latency by up to 54% in Borderlands 4. Gearbox’s game is available through a bundle that includes a new GeForce RTX 50 GPU; this offer will last until September 22. Borderlands 4 can also be played via NVIDIA GeForce NOW for those without suitable hardware.
NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation has recently been added to Predecessor, a team-based strategy MOBA game by Omeda Studios. This title supports both DLAA and Reflex as well.
For RTX Remix users, an update through the NVIDIA app now includes an advanced particle system that allows modders to enhance traditional fire and smoke effects and create more fantastical ones like those in Portal.
