NVIDIA’s Blackwell Ultra GB300 AI servers are experiencing unprecedented demand, according to supplier Quanta. The company reports that production is not keeping up with the orders.

NVIDIA’s AI Server Shipments To Peak by Q4 According to Quanta, With Consistent Demand Expected in Upcoming Years

Team Green recently announced an increase in GB300 AI cluster production. However, market demand for these servers is much higher than anticipated. Based on remarks by Quanta’s EVP (via TED), it’s clear that the demand for AI servers is ‘unimaginable’, with NVIDIA’s GB200 and GB300 being the most popular options among customers. Quanta also reports a production bottleneck, attributing the surge in demand to the ‘AI hype’ and expecting this momentum to continue over the next few years.

Quanta is one of NVIDIA’s key suppliers alongside Foxconn. The firm has plans to diversify its production to regions such as the US, Thailand, and Mexico. Quanta’s Mexico plant is scheduled to start production next year, with investments also being made in California and Tennessee. Notably, server shipments are expected to peak by Q4, with a significant portion attributed to Blackwell Ultra GB300 clusters.

In a unique start to his ruling against President Donald Trump’s administration on September 30, U.S. District Court Judge William Young included a scanned handwritten note sent to his office. The note read: “Trump has pardons and tanks – what do you have?” At the top of Young’s opinion in AAUP v. NVIDIA’s Blackwell Ultra lineup has faced slight delays due to changes in board design from Bianca to Cordelia. However, these supply chain issues were resolved by reverting to the older board design similar to the GB200. This allowed NVIDIA to ramp up production seamlessly and gain support from suppliers.

According to supply chain sources, NVIDIA’s AI servers will continue to see strong demand as we approach year-end. Additionally, the upcoming launch of Vera Rubin is expected to provide Team Green with another significant boost in the AI industry.
