The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is already renowned for its gaming performance, thanks to its 2nd Gen 3D V-Cache technology. It features 8 cores and 16 threads, operating at up to 5.2 GHz with a 120W TDP and 96 MB of cache. Overclocked under LN2 cooling, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D hit an impressive 7313 MHz or 7.31 GHz, breaking past the previous 7.2 GHz barrier.
For further testing, Hicookie ran Cinebench 2024 and scored 1733 points in the single-core test with a frequency of 6648.8 MHz. While this was lower than the record overclocking figure, it still represents an impressive performance for the Ryzen 7 9800X3D.
The achievement highlights the capabilities of both the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and Gigabyte’s X870 AORUS Tachyon motherboard. As newer AM5 socket refreshes are anticipated, we can expect even better performance in the future.
