The latest leak confirms that the upcoming Intel Battlemage discrete GPU, which is likely the Arc B770 due to featuring a similar PCI-ID, will have 16 GB of VRAM capacity. This information was first spotted in a Linux boot log by @GawroskiT.
Linux Boot Log:
– The “BATTLEMAGE” PCI ID “E221” was revealed in the boot log.
– This is one of four PCI IDs previously seen in the Compute Runtime, suggesting it belongs to an Arc B770 variant. While not officially confirmed, this name seems likely as a successor to the A770.
The Battlemage GPU will have 32 Xe2 cores and a 256-bit memory bus, which is expected to provide a significant upgrade over the current Arc B580 (12 GB VRAM). Release details are still sparse, but Intel hasn’t revealed much about its specifications or release date.
The GPU might be one of the first dGPUs from Intel to appear in laptops. It’s rumored to ship with 16 GB GDDR6 memory at a bandwidth of 608 GB/s.
Key Specifications (Rumored):
– **Graphics Card Variant**: Arc B7XX, Arc B580, or Arc A770
– **GPU Die**: Arc BMG-G31 for B7XX, Arc BMG-G21 for B580, and Arc ACM-G10 for A770
– **Process Node**: TSMC 5nm (B7XX), TSMC 6nm (A770)
– **Memory Capacity**: 16 GB GDDR6 (B7XX, A770), 12 GB GDDR6 (B580)
– **Memory Speed**: 19 Gbps
– **Memory Bus**: 256-bit (B7XX, A770), 192-bit (B580)
The B770 is expected to be released before the end of this year and might debut in laptops.
