Samsung has reportedly increased the prices of its DRAM and NAND Flash products by up to 30% due to tighter supply.
Samsung Increases DRAM Prices by 30%, NAND Flash by Up to 10% Due to Tighter Supply
According to a report from the Korean news outlet Newdaily, Samsung has raised prices on its DRAM and NAND Flash products. The increase is attributed to reduced production of older products and higher demand from major cloud enterprises. Micron and SanDisk have also announced similar price hikes.
The affected products include:
– DRAM: LPDDR4X, LPDDR5, and LPDDR5X
– NAND Flash: eMMC and UFC

Other manufacturers have also seen price increases. Micron has notified customers of a 20-30% rise in prices and is not taking new orders. SanDisk has announced a 10% increase for its NAND flash products.
In anticipation of new market segments like AI PCs and next-gen smartphones, demand for older DRAM standards (like DDR4) has declined significantly. This shift has led to a price hike of up to 50% for DDR4 memory, making DDR5 more cost-effective for PCs. The rising demand for High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) further tightens the supply and drives prices higher.
Currently, Samsung controls 32.7% of the DRAM market and 32.9% of the NAND market. The company is working hard to secure backing from NVIDIA for its HBM products and has accelerated development of LPDDR6 DRAM with expected first designs later this year.
