The early Geekbench 6 results for the A19 Pro were a disappointment to those planning to upgrade to the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. However, when actual retail units began testing, it became clear that Apple’s flagship silicon is a top-tier performer. In our analysis, we found that the A19 Pro not only outperformed every other Android smartphone processor in premium devices but did so with the lowest power consumption.
The most efficient Android chipset in Geekbench 6’s multi-core test was Xiaomi’s XRING 01, which consumed 16.5 percent more power than Apple’s A19 Pro. The least efficient was the Dimensity 9400.
When performing single and multi-core runs, the A19 Pro scored 4,019 and 11,054, respectively. In this test, the Snapdragon 8 Elite powered the REDMAGIC 10 Pro+, while the Dimensity 9400 drove the OPPO Find X8 Pro.
Based on these results, the A19 Pro not only achieved the highest single-core result for any chipset but also outperformed every other competitor in both Geekbench 6’s compute benchmarks. Given that we haven’t seen the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, Dimensity 9500, or Exynos 2500 yet, it’s clear that the A19 Pro is making a significant statement.
According to YouTuber Geekerwan, the A19 Pro reached its multi-core score while consuming only 12.1W of board power, boasting the best ‘performance per watt’ ratio among any smartphone chipset tested. Xiaomi’s XRING 01 came in second with 14.1W but still fell short with a lower efficiency score. The Snapdragon 8 Elite required a 28.8 percent increase in power compared to the A19 Pro, while the Dimensity 9400 was the least efficient, consuming 18.4W.
In percentages, these differences are as follows:
– A19 Pro (12.1W) vs XRING 01 (14.1W): 14.2 percent better efficiency
– A19 Pro (12.1W) vs Snapdragon 8 Elite (17W): 28.8 percent better efficiency
– A19 Pro (12.1W) vs Dimensity 9400 (18.4W): 34.2 percent better efficiency
While the A19 Pro uses a new architecture and TSMC’s latest third-generation 3nm process, it demonstrates Apple’s focus on energy efficiency. Despite rumors suggesting that Apple aimed for improved energy efficiency with the iPhone 17 series, the A19 Pro appears to have exceeded expectations. For AAA gaming comparisons, the A19 Pro delivers up to a 69 percent frame rate boost in three titles.
