The leak comes from the fifth developer beta of iOS 26, which references a new display resolution of 422 x 514 pixels. This suggests that the upcoming Apple Watch Ultra 3 will have a slightly larger screen compared to the current Ultra 2, which has a resolution of 410 x 502 pixels. If Apple maintains its pixel density of around 335 ppi, the new Ultra 3 would measure approximately 1.98 inches diagonally, up from the current 1.93-inch display.
This increase in size would be achieved by reducing the bezel size rather than expanding the chassis, providing users with a slightly larger screen and about 5 percent more screen real estate without altering the form factor. This change could prove beneficial for displaying more visuals within the titanium case.
The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is also rumored to bring other significant upgrades, including support for satellite messaging even without cellular or Wi-Fi coverage, a wide-angle LTPO3 display similar to that found in the Apple Watch Series 10, built-in 5G RedCap cellular support, blood pressure detection, and new S10 or S11 chips to enhance performance and efficiency.
While this resolution increase is one of the clearer leaks so far, it’s part of a broader set of rumored improvements. It’s expected that Apple will launch both the iPhone 17 lineup and the new Apple Watch models on September 9.
