To enhance these new charging speeds, Apple offers a new accessory: the “Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max.” Although the charger can momentarily deliver up to 60W of power due to its compact design, it will sustain an output of 40W. Available for $39 from the Apple Store or online, this adapter is sold separately.
However, users are not limited to using Apple’s products; other compatible USB-C chargers that meet the specifications can also provide fast charging. The effectiveness and speed of the Dynamic charger remain to be tested, but it promises faster charging up to 60W if it works as expected.
It’s important to note that the ultra-thin iPhone Air does not benefit from these improved charging speeds and charges at a slower rate, reaching only 50% in about 30 minutes. This is less efficient compared to the newer models.
The entire iPhone 17 lineup will be available for pre-order starting September 12, with shipments beginning on September 19.
