ASUS’s latest GPU, the ROG Astral RTX 5080 Dhahab CORE, has been revealed. This model is priced nearly 90% higher than the official price of the GeForce RTX 5080, making it one of the most expensive GPUs on the market.
Despite its eye-catching appearance and Middle-Eastern theme, the Astral RTX 5080 Dhahab CORE does not feature real gold plating. ASUS’s website lists other premium features but notably omits any mention of real gold for this model. The GPU’s shroud will be all metal, designed to shimmer like gold.
The card is priced at $1,899 in the U.S., and $2,300 in China, which is just $100 less than the official MSRP of the GeForce RTX 5090 FE. This price is nearly 90% higher than the official MSRP for the RTX 5080.
Interestingly, ASUS previously showcased a RTX 5090 with 5 kg of real gold, valued at over $500,000, but this edition is not planned for mass production. The Astral ROG RTX 5090 Dhahab sells for an astonishing $9,000+.
The new RTX 5080 Dhahab CORE might be ASUS’s most expensive edition at the moment. It’s available for purchase on official ASUS and Micro Center websites.
