Secondly, the company announced a mobile MMO titled “The Division Resurgence.” This free-to-play game will offer a similar experience to the main series but adapted for mobile gaming.
According to Ubisoft’s blog post, “The Division 2: Survivors” will bring an updated survival extraction experience to The Division 2. Development is in early stages and led by Magnus Jansén as creative director. Julian Gerighty, executive producer of The Division 2 and now directing The Division 3, stated that the game is a collaborative effort where clear communication with the community is prioritized.
Ubisoft also shared a roadmap for the franchise, which does not include The Division 3. Regarding “The Division Resurgence,” it will take players into Manhattan, set several months after the events of the first division game. Despite being an exclusive mobile release, the game aims to bridge the narrative gap between The Division 1 and 2 by adding new story elements over time.
To participate, fans can register for a potential closed beta test. A promotional image shows three figures in winter gear overlooking a snowy cityscape, emphasizing the game’s setting.
The last major update for The Division 2 was “Battle for Brooklyn,” which launched earlier this year. The next significant update is Year 7, Season 2, titled “The Pact,” launching on September 9.
