Medical device company Masimo has filed a lawsuit against U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) over the reactivation of the Apple Watch’s Blood Oxygen feature. The company seeks to reinstate an import ban on Apple Watch models that utilize this feature, claiming CBP overstepped its authority and violated procedural rules. This dispute stems from Apple’s recent release of iOS 18.6.1, which included a workaround for Blood Oxygen Monitoring through the iPhone. Masimo believes this mechanism infringes upon their patents.
