Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old from Utah, was arrested as the shooter in Charlie Kirk’s assassination on September 10. The investigation into his motives and the debate over political violence continue.
Robinson allegedly confessed to a family member and was charged with aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm, and obstruction of justice. Following the shooting at Utah Valley University, vigils honoring Kirk have taken place across the country.
In Des Moines, Iowa, hundreds gathered for a vigil where Erika Kirk delivered a speech calling her husband a “martyr” and vowing to continue his work with Turning Point USA. Similar messages were shared in other cities, emphasizing continuing Kirk’s advocacy.
The shooter was remembered as a high-achieving, quiet student recently involved in politics. Bullet casings found at the scene included messages like “Notices, Bulges, OwO What’s This?” and “Hey fascist! Catch!” A rifle wrapped in a towel was discovered nearby.
