Memorial for Charlie Kirk: D.C. Service Highlights Political Violence

The event will be organized by Arizona state senator Jake Hoffman, who said attendees will celebrate Kirk’s life and legacy while offering prayers. It remains unclear whether President Donald Trump or Vice President JD Vance plan to join the gathering.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox called for introspection among all Americans, urging them to consider where they stand and where they wish to be. The shooting has also prompted discussions about political violence, with politicians across the ideological spectrum denouncing it.

A public memorial service is scheduled to take place in Arizona on Sunday, September 21, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale. Kirk’s organization Turning Point USA stated that the event will celebrate his remarkable life and enduring legacy. The memorial is set to begin at 11 a.m. MST with doors opening at 8 a.m. MST.

Charlie Kirk was killed while speaking at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. Two days later, authorities identified Tyler Robinson as the suspected shooter. President Trump plans to attend the memorial service and will be in the United Kingdom prior to the event.
