[CORSAIR Launches WS3000 80+ Platinum Grade Power Supply with 4x12V-2×6 Connectors at $599]
Corsair, a well-known manufacturer of hardware and peripherals, has introduced its first 3000W power supply for high-end workstation builds. Unlike traditional units, the WS3000 is designed to support multiple GPUs, making it ideal for intensive workloads such as AI/ML training.
The WS3000 offers 3000 watts of capacity, sufficient to power four top-tier GPUs like the GeForce RTX 5090. It features four native 12V-2×6 power connectors and is ATX 3.1 compliant. Additionally, it includes four traditional 8-pin PCIe connectors for GPUs, which can be split into eight 8-pin PCIe connectors via four provided PCIe cables.
Despite its large capacity, the WS3000 measures compactly at 175mm in length, 150mm in width, and 86mm in height. It can deliver up to 250A through a single +12V rail, simplifying load distribution and making it ideal for high-power or high-draw workloads. However, this also increases the risk of heat buildup, which Corsair has mitigated with industrial-grade components and cooling.
The power supply includes a single 140mm double ball bearing fan. While this will generate some noise at higher loads, it ensures that systems remain cool even when multiple high-end GPUs are in use. Corsair prioritizes reliability over silent performance here.
It’s important to note that the WS3000 requires a 220-240V AC supply and is not compatible with 110/120V power. Users need either a step-up converter or dual-voltage support to operate it on 110/120V.
The Corsair WS3000 is priced at $599 and comes with a 10-year warranty.
