The latest batch of documents from Epstein’s estate mentions a number of influential names. The list includes Musk, Thiel, Bannon, Prince Andrew, and Bill Gates. Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released these documents on September 26, which include parts of Epstein’s daily schedule in 2014, 2017, and 2019, a flight manifest from 2000 with Epstein and Prince Andrew’s names, and a ledger that twice lists massages for “Andrew” in 2000. They are part of the 8,544 records in the third batch received by the Oversight Committee.
The documents include details such as a “tentative breakfast” scheduled with Bill Gates on December 5, 2014, and a planned lunch with Thiel on November 27, 2017. There is also a notation for a meeting with Steve Bannon at 7 a.m. on February 16, 2019.
Bannon was White House chief strategist during the early part of Trump’s first term. Thiel has donated to conservative causes, including heavy contributions to JD Vance’s 2022 U.S. Senate race. Gates and Prince Andrew have both expressed regret for spending time with Epstein.
Elon Musk helped power Trump’s victory in 2024, spending nearly $290 million to help the president and Republicans get elected. He became one of Trump’s closest advisers during the early days of his second administration before a falling out, although they recently appeared to reconcile.
The documents released by Democrats indicate Epstein had breakfast appointments with notable figures such as Musk, Thiel, and Bannon, and a lunch scheduled with Prince Andrew in 2017. The records also show that Gates was invited for breakfast on December 5, 2014.
These revelations have sparked controversy, with the GOP-controlled Committee accusing Democrats of selectively releasing records. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer issued a subpoena for records related to Epstein from the Justice Department in August after a bipartisan group of lawmakers voted in favor of the measure in July.
The documents also include a lewd birthday letter purportedly written by President Donald Trump, which he has denied writing. The letter shows Trump’s alleged message to Epstein inside the outline of a woman’s body with his signature mimicking pubic hair.
Prince Andrew stepped away from public duties as a royal in 2019 amid the fallout from his relationship with Epstein. He is accused by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who was sexually abused as a teenager and whose lawsuit was settled for an undisclosed amount and a substantial donation to her charity. Prince Andrew has denied all allegations.
Epstein owned a private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands where sex trafficking of young girls allegedly occurred. In 2020, prosecutors filed a lawsuit against Epstein’s estate, alleging a criminal enterprise took place involving the sexual abuse of young girls on his property. The estate settled the case with the U.S. Virgin Islands for $105 million in December 2022.
Questions surrounding who visited the island have been a recurring theme of the Epstein saga. President Trump mentioned that he turned down an invitation to visit Epstein’s island, saying “In one of my very good moments, I turned it down. I didn’t want to go to his island.”
These documents continue to fuel debate and investigations into Jeffrey Epstein’s connections with powerful figures in politics and business.
