Who is Jeffrey Epstein’s former girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell?
Ghislaine Maxwell, a former British socialite, was convicted in 2021 for sex trafficking minors tied to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
WASHINGTON − Deputy Attorney General Todd Bumble is scheduled to meet with convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell on July 24 to discuss her involvement with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, according to news reports.
CNN, ABC and NBC News reported that Deputy Attorney General Todd Bumble will meet with Maxwell on July 24. Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for her role in the sex trafficking of minors to Epstein.
The meeting comes as President Donald Trump continues to face backlash over the Epstein saga and his administration’s decision not to release investigative files in the Justice Department’s custody. DOJ officials did not immediately respond to USA TODAY’s request for comment.
Maxwell is also reportedly scheduled to meet on August 11 with congressional lawmakers after the House Oversight Committee subpoenaed her on July 23. In a social media post Tuesday, Bumble said that if Maxwell has information about anyone who has committed crimes against victims, the FBI and DOJ will hear what she has to say.
