Google has recently unveiled its latest Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro models during the Made by Google event. These devices come with significant upgrades, enhancing user experience in photography, performance, and design. The company also introduced the new Pixel 10 Pro Fold and TSMC-made Tensor G5 chip. If you’re interested, here’s a breakdown of the key features.
Pixel 10 & Pixel 10 Pro: Premium Android Experience with Advanced Photography, Smarter AI Features, and Long-Lasting Battery
Beyond the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL, Google has announced additional products like new earbuds, smartwatches, and accessories. However, we’ll cover these in separate posts. For now, let’s focus on the Pixel 10 series, which offers a substantial upgrade over last year’s Pixel 9 lineup, despite similar pricing.
Design
The Pixel 10 series continues Google’s signature design with sleek glass backs and aluminum frames. The base Pixel 10 features a 6.3-inch Actua Display with peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits. Meanwhile, the Pro models boast Super Actua Displays with increased brightness up to 3,300 nits. These enhancements ensure vibrant visuals even in direct sunlight.
Enhanced Camera Capabilities
The Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL introduce major refinements despite unchanged hardware from last year. Google’s new image signal processor (ISP) and improved autofocus algorithms enhance video capture smoothness and low-light performance. The 50MP main camera now features enhanced optical image stabilization, doubling the range for steadier shots. All models offer 10-bit HDR video recording.

The standard Pixel 10 adds a new 10.8MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and 20x Super Res Zoom. This enhances the ability to capture distant subjects clearly. The main 48MP wide lens now includes improved stabilization, ensuring steady shots in challenging conditions. The 13MP ultrawide lens offers versatile use cases. All models default to 10-bit HDR video recording.
Performance and Battery Life
The Pixel 10 series is powered by Google’s custom Tensor G5 chip for faster performance and efficiency. The base model comes with 12GB of RAM, while the Pro and Pro XL models have 16GB of RAM, ensuring smooth multitasking and responsiveness.
Battery life has improved thanks to new chips and larger batteries. The Pixel 10 features a 4,970mAh battery for up to 30 hours of usage. The Pro and Pro XL models come with even bigger batteries: 4,870mAh for the Pro and 5,200mAh for the Pro XL. Both offer more than 30 hours of runtime. These improvements include support for Qi2 wireless charging at up to 25W speeds. Google also introduced Pixelsnap, a magnetic accessory system similar to MagSafe.

New AI-Powered Features
Google continues to leverage AI to enhance user experience. The new devices come with the “Camera Coach” feature, providing real-time feedback on framing and composition to capture better photos. Additionally, the “Auto Best Take” feature automatically selects the best facial expressions from a series of shots. Gemini is also deeply integrated into these devices, improving voice recognition and contextual suggestions for smarter performance.
Pricing and Availability
The Pixel 10 starts at $799 for the 128GB model and $899 for the 256GB variant. The Pixel 10 Pro begins at $999, with the Pro XL starting at $1,199. Pre-orders are now live, with devices shipping on August 28. These prices make them an attractive option for those seeking premium features without switching to other Android handsets like the Galaxy S25 lineup.
