Just a few days after the game’s release, Nexus Mods already hosts 121 mods for it. Some of these mods significantly enhance key aspects of gameplay. Here are five recommendations:
1. **DLTB Retouched** – Created by Nexus Mods user aethersquared, this mod focuses on quality-of-life improvements. It reduces stamina consumption and increases regeneration, halves the dropkick skill’s stamina usage to encourage aggressive play, and makes parkouring less oily/sweaty. The crosshair size is reduced for immersion, dashing can be done while swimming, and dismantling items is faster.
2. **VAXIS’s Dumber Zombies** – This mod reduces basic zombies’ perception, making them slower to recognize you as a threat when crouching or hiding. It doesn’t affect special zombies.
3. **Zombie Grab Range Reducer** – By Fr4nsson, this mod decreases the grabbing range of zombies from 1.7 meters to 1.3 meters, 1.0 meters, or disables it entirely. While complete disablement isn’t recommended, reducing the range makes sense for gameplay.
4. **Better Beast Mode** – Created by starkillercrane55, this mod enhances Beast Mode by filling up the meter faster, increasing jump height, and making the grappling hook go faster. It also extends the duration of Beast Mode without hitting enemies or manually stopping it.
5. **More Repairs** – By Phobi666, this mod increases repair capacity for items based on their rarity. White and green weapons can now be repaired 10 times, blue up to 20, violet up to 25, orange up to 35, and platinum/exotic weapons have infinite repairs.
For co-op play, consider **Synsteric’s ‘Play Online with Mods’** mod, which disables the multiplayer CRC check to make mods work in co-op mode.
