Intel Core Ultra 3 205 Review: Boosted Core Speed & GPU Power!

A few days ago, a Korean reviewer from Bulls Lab tested the entry-level Intel Core Ultra 3 205 from the Arrow Lake-S family. This review provides insights into the processor’s performance in various workloads and how it compares to other budget Intel processors in the Arrow Lake and Raptor Lake Refresh series.

Since the Core Ultra 3 205 is aimed at the entry-level market, Bulls Lab used a cheap H810 chipset motherboard for testing. The processor performed well against its predecessor, the Core i3 14100, offering almost 48% higher multi-threaded scores in Cinebench R23. In single-threaded workloads, it scored 1983 points, which is roughly 16% better than the score of the Core i3 14100.

The processor hit nearly 4.7 GHz on the P-Core and over 4.3 GHz on the E-Core during testing. It also showed impressive results in graphical workloads and games. In Time Spy, the integrated GPU scored 1125 points, marking a 75% improvement over the Core i3 14100.

In gaming, the iGPU may not be sufficient for intensive titles but offers smooth performance for non-intensive ones like DOTA and Valorant. The CPU usage remains in the 40-60% range during these games. When coupled with a dedicated GPU, it can handle the workload properly. However, in intensive titles like Cyberpunk 2077, the CPU usage spikes to nearly 90%.

All in all, this 4+4 core processor looks good for entry-level gaming and should be an attractive solution at around $120. Bulls Lab reported that the Core Ultra 3 205 is available for 199,000 Won (approximately US$140). However, a pre-built system with the same CPU, 8GB RAM, and a 500GB SSD can be purchased for as low as 499,000 Won (approximately US$360), making it an attractive option.
