The iPhone 16e secured ninth place among top-selling smartphones in Europe, which suggests the iPhone 17e is expected to receive similar attention. With its official unveiling set for sometime in the first half of 2026, a tipster has shared details on the device’s primary specifications. Like its predecessor, the iPhone 17e will retain a 6.1-inch 60Hz OLED screen and Dynamic Island but will feature an A19 chipset.
The display will not have a high refresh rate, and there’s a possibility Apple might use chip-binning for this model, meaning fewer GPU cores compared to the A18 in the iPhone 16e. The camera setup is also expected to be simpler, with a single rear 48MP sensor and a 12MP front-facing camera supporting Face ID.
The pricing details are not mentioned but are likely from Apple’s supply chain. According to the tipster, the iPhone 17e will be the most affordable model in Apple’s lineup, which might still set it above the $599 bracket seen with the iPhone 16e. Despite these upgrades, having a 60Hz screen and single rear camera could make it somewhat expensive.
Unfortunately, those planning to skip the iPhone 17e for the base iPhone 18 may face another setback. Previous reports suggest Apple will phase out the base model while introducing a foldable iPhone in 2026, with five versions arriving that year starting with the iPhone 17e.
