Lenovo’s Legion Go 2 handheld has been confirmed and will feature AMD’s latest Ryzen Z2 and Z2 Extreme processors for gaming. Building on its predecessors, the Legion Go and Legion Go S, which used the Ryzen Z1 Extreme and Ryzen Z2 Go chips, respectively, the Legion Go 2 brings significant upgrades.
The new Legion Go 2 offers a more ergonomic design than its predecessor, with multiple usage modes: it can be played as a handheld, a tablet, or a laptop when the joysticks are removed. It supports three-in-one functionality through the controller dock and FPS stick.
Specs include an upgraded AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor, a 1200P OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 500 nits brightness (True Black 1000 HDR), and a 16:10 aspect ratio. The device sports 32 GB of LPDDR5X-8000 memory and up to 1 TB of PCIe storage with an expandable MicroSD option. Internally, it features improved cooling with a larger fan and two large exhaust vents.
Other notable features include a 74Whr battery upgrade from the previous 49.2Whr, a 65W AC adapter, and a finger-print reader on the back. IO options consist of a USB 4.0 Type-C port (DP 2.0 + PD 3.0), a 3.5mm combo audio jack, another USB 4.0 Type-C port (DP 2.0 + PD 3.0) at the bottom, and a microSD card reader.

While details on availability and pricing are pending, given that the Legion Go “Z1 Extreme” launched around $700-$800 US, we can expect similar pricing for the new device. Launch details will be announced in the coming days.
