LG Showcases Several Primary RGB Tandem-Based 4th Gen OLED Displays at COEX; Unveils World’s Brightest, Fastest, and Highest Resolution OLED Monitors
A few days ago, LG launched its first Tandem OLED gaming monitor in China, which offered up to 1,500 nits of peak brightness. Now, the company is back with more advanced Primary RGB Tandem-based displays in South Korea. At the COEX event, LG showcased three new innovative offerings, including the world’s brightest and fastest OLED monitors.
The Primary RGB Tandem technology involves stacking four layers of Green, Blue, and Red OLED panels to achieve higher brightness and contrast than regular OLED panels. With this advanced layer stacking, LG has produced the following industry-leading displays:
1. An 83-inch large OLED display offering up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness.
2. A 27-inch QHD OLED monitor with a world-record 540 Hz refresh rate and DFR technology (Dynamic Frequency & Resolution) that switches between 1080p at 720 Hz or 1440p at 540 Hz, while maintaining an impressive 99.5% DCI-P3 color gamut and up to 1,500 nits of brightness.
3. A 45-inch 5K2K (5120x2160p) panel delivering the highest resolution on an OLED panel.
All these newly unveiled monitors offer industry-leading specifications and features on OLED displays, but details about their pricing and availability are yet to be announced.
The LG Display-led technological evolution of OLED is changing the paradigm of displays.
We will secure sustainable technological competitiveness and provide differentiated customer value by not only bringing commercial technologies to maturity but also solidly preparing R&D capabilities for future technologies.
