MSI has recently introduced its new MEG X870E GODLIKE X Edition and several upgraded AMD AM5 “X870E” motherboards. These motherboards come with enhanced features, including upgraded VRMs, power delivery, an OC Engine, and 64 MB BIOS.
The MSI MEG X870E GODLIKE X Edition is the new flagship model, marking the 10th anniversary of the Godlike series. This motherboard features a black and gold design and will be produced in only 1,000 units. Each unit includes a golden nameplate engraved with a unique number from 1 to 1,000, along with a custom collectors stand and a black-colored Lucky Stuff toy.
The MEG X870E GODLIKE X Edition has already achieved an impressive overclocking feat, pushing the AMD Ryzen 7 9700X to 7.304 GHz. This was accomplished by Taiwanese overclocker TSAIK, as documented on HWBOT.
In addition to the new GODLIKE model, MSI is also releasing a range of MAX series motherboards under its “MAX” brand. Some models include:
– **MPG X870E CARBON MAX WIFI**: Black color scheme with Carbon black heatsink, Ultra Performance Duet Rail Power System, 5G + 2.5G LAN, and USB 40 Gbps.
– **MPG X870E EDGE TI MAX WIFI**: Silver-white color scheme with white slot/pin-header/connector, Ultra Performance Duet Rail Power System, 5G LAN, and USB 40 Gbps.
– **MAG X870E TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI**: Black color scheme with enlarged heatsink and MOSFET thermal pads rated for 7W/mK.
– **MAG X870E GAMING PLUS MAX WIFI**: Silver color scheme with similar features to the other models.
All new MSI X870E MAX series motherboards feature an OC Engine that allows independent BCLK control, boosting gaming performance by up to 15% on AMD’s Ryzen CPUs. They also include an onboard BCLK jumper for fine-tuning.
One of the most significant upgrades is the increased BIOS capacity from 32 MB to 64 MB, enhancing compatibility with existing and future Ryzen CPUs. These motherboards offer optimized PCIe slots, full x16 bandwidth for GPUs, and full x4 bandwidth for M.2 drives. They also feature 5G LAN, Wi-Fi 7, and USB 40 Gbps options.
The GODLIKE & ACE MAX models come with 10G LAN, while other top-tier models have finned VRM designs for better heat dissipation.
For more details on pricing and availability, stay tuned as MSI plans to announce these shortly.
