In a unique start to his ruling against President Donald Trump’s administration on September 30, U.S. District Court Judge William Young included a scanned handwritten note sent to his office. The note read: “Trump has pardons and tanks – what do you have?” At the top of Young’s opinion in AAUP v. Rubio, which ruled that Trump’s effort to deport foreign-born student protesters was unconstitutional.

In his message on X, Salah asked: “Can you tell us how he died, where, and why?”

UEFA had posted a tribute to al-Obeid, 41, describing him as the ‘Palestinian Pele.’ The post sparked criticism for its vague nature. Al-Obeid’s widow claimed he was killed when an Israeli tank shelled a humanitarian aid site.

Salah’s response garnered significant attention, receiving over 25,000 comments, 365,000 reposts, and 1.3 million likes. It prompted the Israeli military to promise a closer look at the incident.

Al-Obeid was dedicated to football, planning to play until he was 50, despite Gaza’s war conditions. Many athletes have been killed in Gaza during Israel’s campaign; reports suggest hundreds of soccer players, including many children, among the dead.
