A recent hotfix has been implemented to improve balance among fighters. Here are some key changes:
– **Ashrah**: Absolving a Sin with Heaven attacks now deals 30 damage (up from 20).
– **Havik**: Adjustments include the first hit of Flesh Wound now hitting Mid instead of overhead, and increased combo damage scaling after Skab Stab.
– **Kenshi**: Heighten Senses can now be special cancelled, and Impaler recovers faster.
– **Li Mei**: Calculated recovers faster on hit. Enhanced Flipping Heel Kick’s last hit is no longer more negative when flawlessly blocked, and Sky Lantern detonated by Nova Blast now hits overhead.
– **Liu Kang**: Punishing Palm can be special cancelled.
– **Rain**: Water Beam and Enhanced Water Beam start up 3 frames faster.
– **Reptile**: Dr. Wreckyl and Kneet Trick are more negative when flawlessly blocked.
– **Shang Tsung**: Knee Reverser recovers faster, and Spin Kick can now be special cancelled and deals less damage.
– **Quan Chi**: Psycho Skull starts up 5 frames faster, Sorcerer Smack has 2 more frames of blockstun, and Bow Already! has 5 more frames of hitstun. Best Foot Backward now hits overhead with adjusted hit region.
– **Omni-Man**: Earthquake Stomp’s second hit has 5 more frames of blockstun.
– **Ermac**: Behind You releases opponents 10 frames sooner.
– **Homelander**: Increased combo damage scaling after specific moves.
– **Conan**: Fixed issues with trade situations, and increased recovery on hits and misses. Atlantean Bulwark’s fourth hit has a greater advantage.
– **T-1000**: Multiplanar Laceration now hits Mid instead of overhead, and increased combo damage for certain moves.
– **Cyrax**: Capture Foam is destroyed by other projectiles, and Close, Mid, and Far Bomb build less meter and do less damage when blocked. Bomb Mistwalk also builds less meter and does less damage.
– **Sektor**: Burst Grenade no longer builds meter on misses, and its damage has been adjusted. Flamethrower now deals 30 damage on the first hit (down from 50) and 50 on the second hit (up from 30).
Mortal Kombat 1 received positive reviews, scoring an 8.5/10 on Wccftech. However, it is selling slower than its predecessor, Mortal Kombat 11, which reached 15 million units in October 2022 after three and a half years since its debut. Given the current sales pace, it seems unlikely that MK1 will reach another 8.8 million units even with discounts.
