Acer Launches Five New High-End Gaming Monitors with Up to 5K Resolution, Including Its Fastest Predator X27U F8 OLED QHD Monitor That Can Boost up to 540Hz and Up to 720Hz at 720p
Popular hardware and peripheral manufacturer Acer announced new products at IFA in Berlin, including new monitor models for its existing Nitro and Predator series. These monitors aim to deliver a premium gaming experience by offering powerful specifications that cater to the demands of enthusiasts. From IPS to OLED, the new monitors target different price segments, allowing gamers to choose displays according to their budgets.
Starting with the Nitro Series, it will feature four new models, equipped with either 27-inch or 40-inch displays, and available with either IPS or VA panels. The Nitro XV275K V6 is a 27-inch monitor boasting 4K resolution and up to 180Hz of refresh rate, providing sharp details with a fluid gaming experience. Its I/O includes 2x HDMI 2.1 and DP 1.4, both supporting 4K@180Hz output but with DFR (Dynamic Frequency Resolution) support, the monitor can also run at 1080p@360Hz. With peak brightness of 600 Nits in SDR mode and up to 1000 Nits in HDR mode, it’s one of the brightest 4K IPS gaming monitors available.
For users on a budget, the Nitro XV273U W1 is a decent option. It offers 2560x1440p resolution on a 27-inch IPS screen and can run at 240Hz out of the box but can overclock to 275Hz for even smoother visuals. Similar to the 4K model, it boasts a standard contrast of 1000:1 and covers 95% of DCI-P3 color gamut for vibrant images. Brightness is lower than the 4K model, with 400 nits in SDR and 500 nits in HDR mode, but it’s still sufficiently high for well-lit rooms.
The Nitro XV270X features a 5K (5120×2880) display with up to 72Hz refresh rate. With DFR mode, it can switch to QHD@144Hz and serve as a good gaming monitor for content creators or those who prefer high resolution. The XV270X features a better contrast of 2000:1 due to its high pixel density. Those seeking the same resolution but a higher refresh rate can opt for the Nitro XZ403CKR, which boasts a large 40-inch VA screen and runs at up to 180Hz.
Through DFR, users can switch to 2560x1080p@288Hz mode for more fluidity and enjoy immersive gaming via the 1000R curved display. On the high-end side, Acer launched the fastest OLED QHD gaming monitor called X27U F8, which boasts a refresh rate of up to 540Hz. With DFR, users can switch to the 720p@720Hz mode, similar to what LG showcased a few weeks ago. The monitor offers a 99% DCI-P3 color gamut, VESA DisplayHDR500 certification, and color accuracy of Delta E < 1.
