NVIDIA’s CEO recently visited Taiwan and focused his trip on praising TSMC and discussing how both companies will evolve in the ‘AI revolution’. TSMC is crucial for NVIDIA, as it produces all of Team Green’s architectures. During this visit, Jensen Huang expressed more frequent appreciation for TSMC, stating that anyone who bought TSMC’s stock is a ‘smart person’ and that the chip giant will be busy for several months ahead.
Jensen validated that Rubin, an AI chip, was under trial production at TSMC. He also announced that Blackwell Ultra production was a complete success, crediting TSMC’s efforts in ensuring a capable end product. One aspect of Jensen’s visit was to thank TSMC leaders for their extensive collaboration on computing products. His media interactions reflected the same gratitude.
NVIDIA has become TSMC’s largest customer, and both companies have a bright future ahead as computational advancements accelerate. Regarding NVIDIA’s next AI generation, the Rubin lineup, Jensen revealed that six new chips are being prepped at TSMC, including a new GPU chip, a Vera Rubin CPU, and multiple network interfaces.
The foundation of these products is being laid with TSMC, and Jensen cannot thank them enough. The likelihood of NVIDIA choosing other chip partners remains low for now, given TSMC’s expansion in the US. Therefore, both companies are likely to remain in partnership for several years to come.
