NVIDIA’s Project G-Assist and App are receiving significant updates. Starting with Project G-Assist, the new version is lighter and more responsive, thanks to a 40% reduction in VRAM usage. It now supports auto-selection of plugins for specific tasks and adds support on RTX notebooks via new commands for Max-Q tuning, Battery Boost, and Battery Ops.
NVIDIA’s Project G-Assist Is Now More Responsive Thanks To Lower VRAM Usage, NVIDIA App Adds Smooth Motion Support On RTX 40 Series, More Features & Expanded Support For RTX GPUs
The latest updates to Project G-Assist and the NVIDIA App enhance usability and functionality. Project G-Assist now uses 40% less memory while responding faster and more accurately to user queries. It also supports a wider range of RTX GPUs, including those with 6 GB or higher VRAM.
- Global DLSS Overrides: Users can easily enable DLSS Multi-Frame Generation or Super Resolution profiles globally across many titles without needing to configure each title individually.
- Legacy 3D Settings: Control panel settings for classic games, including anisotropic filtering, anti-aliasing, and ambient occlusion, enhance game visuals.
The NVIDIA App is also getting major upgrades. It now includes a “Global” toggle for DLSS overrides, allowing users to enable DLSS in many games that don’t officially support it. Additionally, the App introduces Smooth Motion support for RTX 40 GPUs, enhancing smoothness without relying on game-specific DLSS integrations.
Finally, the NVIDIA App adds several new features from the Legacy control panel app, including additional 3D settings and classic game enhancements like Anisotropic Filtering and Anti-Aliasing.
BETA users can access the new NVIDIA App starting August 19th, with non-BETA users able to download it a week later.
