This strategic collaboration will make OpenAI one of the exclusive customers for Vera Rubin, providing them access to a powerful new platform.
NVIDIA and OpenAI have been pushing each other forward for over a decade, from the first DGX supercomputer to the breakthrough of ChatGPT. The investment and infrastructure partnership mark a significant step—deploying 10 gigawatts to power the next era of intelligence.
Based on power consumption alone, this deal could result in up to 40,000 Rubin AI racks being sold to OpenAI, a massive figure for a product that has yet to enter the market. NVIDIA’s Rubin lineup is set to enter volume production by H2 2026, meaning that OpenAI and other firms will have access to the next-generation of racks at the same timeline.
