Google will unveil the entire Pixel 10 lineup, including the new Tensor G5 chipset, in just two days. This will be the first Google SoC to be mass-produced on a new and improved 3nm process by TSMC instead of Samsung. A recent AnTuTu benchmark leak from Reddit user HustlersPassion revealed that the Pixel 10 Pro XL with the Tensor G5 scored 1,140,286 points, compared to the Pixel 9 Pro XL’s Tensor G4 score of 983,628 points. The Tensor G5 is 15.91% faster than its predecessor, a modest improvement but one that highlights significant performance differences.

The biggest difference is in multi-core performance, where the Tensor G5 scored 200,770 points compared to the Tensor G4’s score of less than half that, just 983,628. This could be due to architectural improvements from Samsung’s older 4nm process to TSMC’s second-generation 3nm technology and newer cores in the Tensor G5.

On AnTuTu’s leaderboards, the REDMAGIC 10 Pro with the Snapdragon 8 Elite achieved a score of 2,662,615. While Google’s SoC has seen some improvement over last year’s model, it still struggles against competition. The Tensor G5 is significantly slower than chipsets like the Snapdragon 8 Elite, Dimensity 9400+, and A18 Pro.

However, a Google executive emphasized that the Tensor G5 was not designed for benchmark records but to improve user experience by addressing key pain points. Historically, Google’s Tensor chips have been slower, but Pixel devices often run the cleanest version of Android with fewer system resources, resulting in smoother UIs. If Google can maintain this software advantage, the Pixel 10 series could be a successful launch.
