Unlike Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, which was remade using Unreal Engine 5, Ninja Gaiden 4 is believed to run on PlatinumGames’ proprietary engine. This engine prioritizes performance over visuals, especially for action games that require low latency and high frame rates.
The game was playable at Gamescom 2025. Our reviewer Francesco De Meo had the opportunity to check it out and was favorably impressed as a long-time fan. The full game will be released on October 21 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X.
